Episode 174: Three-and-a-Half Steps for Selling Food Safety

Nuno Soares, Ph.D., food safety consultant, author, and trainer, and founder of the "I'm a SLO—Saving Lives Officer" movement

In this episode, Nuno discusses how to "sell" food safety to top management in 3 1/2 steps—the topic of his recently released eBook. Convincing top management of the need for, and importance of, investments in food safety and changes in culture around FSQA is difficult without offering a value proposition for the business. Nuno explains the importance of drawing accurate connections between business value and food safety investments, and how to spotlight positive outcomes and success stories, and avoid dwelling on potential negative outcomes, when seeking buy-in from top management.
